Our Japanese shoji doors include an entire sliding interior door kit: 2 classic design sliding wood doors, with a solid, scuff resistant wooden kick plate panel in the bottom, sliding window door style wood lattice, with a tough, poly fiber reinforced, rip and puncture resistant, translucent shade. We also include side, top, and bottom rails, functioning as both matching doorway trim, and as a double track bottom slider, similar to French sliding doors.
However, the rails in the sliding door kit are not necessary for installation. Customers report installing singles doors across standard interior doorways, where wall space allows, and as sliding pocket doors using top mounted sliding hardware from Home Depot or Lowes. Also, customers report installing pairs for by-pass sliding closet doors, hung from the top, also using slider hardware from local hardware stores. Some use them as an interior movable wall, for home or office, effectively top hung sliding room dividers, using two, three or four doors in by-pass configuration. Shoji doors, like shoji screens & shoji lanterns, have 1001 practical applications.
Wooden doors must be manufactured to exacting standards, as fit is crucial for doors and doorways, and our wooden door kits are carefully crafted from tough, beautifully finished, kiln dried Spruce. We offer 4 fine wood stain finishes: classic Black, a deep Cherry colored Rosewood, a warm Oak colored Honey, as well as a lovely, simple Pine colored Natural.
Our less expensive versions have wood lattice on the front only, one offered with a plain shade, one with a pair of Chinese bamboo tree images. We offer a slightly more expensive version with a Cherry tree in blossom, with lattice also on the front only. We offer two designs with lattice on both sides; one, the classic window pane lattice, the other, a contemporary variation with a unique modern lattice design. Whichever you choose, we think you'll find them an intriguing and attractive alternative to common interior sliding doors. [ Go to Top ]
