These tribal Persian rugs are made by nomads in Iran who spend years weaving each intricate detail into these rugs. They are made on portable wooden looms typically with wool pulled from the tribe's sheep each year. They obtain their dyes naturally from local vegetables, flowers, tree bark, minerals, and insects. Graphs, or blueprints for the patterns, are used more often today but true masters create signature designs and color combinations showing their skill.
This rug is hand-made in Iran of wool fiber with a cotton backing. It is a one of a kind rug that is meant to become an heirloom.
Hand wash only, no chemicals. Colors will fade over time if placed in direct sunlight.
