These pieces are reminiscent of the busts of ancient Greece.  Shiva has the three horizontal lines on his head which indicate the followers of Shiva or Saivite belief.  They are said to represent the Hindu Trinity or trimurti of Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma.  His hair is drawn up in an elaborate setting on top of his head with a cobra emerging from the center.  In his earrings are two cobras.  Parvati is especially beautiful with her nose ring attached to the ear in typical Rajasthani fashion.  On her forehead is a bindi.

Made of Albizzia lebbeck wood, commonly called Country Wood, which closely resembles Teak.

Each piece weighs 26 pounds.
