Regular vacuuming is the best way to keep your sisal rug fresh. Make several passes in different directions, taking care on the bordered parts. If the rug is in a dry or low humidity area frequent, light and even applications of water will help to strengthen the natural fibers and enhance the wearing qualities. Do not saturate. Use a damp cloth or spray bottle. The moisture will tighten up the carpet fibers as they dry. Make sure to vacuum before dampening the rug to remove excess dirt.
