Malayer rugs are woven in the town of Malayer and its surrounding villages. Malayer is located in the northwestern province of Hamadan in Iran. The pattern of Malayer rugs is mainly geometric. Malayer rugs are rarely woven larger than 4'x 7'. Both the asymmetrical (Persian) and symmetrical (Turkish) knot are used depending on the area.

This rug is hand-made in Iran of wool fiber with a cotton backing. It is a one of a kind rug that is meant to become an heirloom.

Hand wash only, no chemicals. Colors will fade over time if placed in direct sunlight.
